This is a classic botequin located in the downtown area. Inside is a truly memorable atmosphere: You step inside and the cashier hands you coins, which you exchange for a chit. You take this to the coffee counter. This counter is a circular island. This arrangement is said to have been invented at this coffee house. The service is quick and the coffee is distinctly Brazilian in taste which means always a bit on the bitter side. They serve it four ways: black, Carioca (extra water), medio (with milk) and pintado (with just a tiny bit of milk). Regardless, it’s an amazing cup of coffee.
