Carioca da Gema is without question one of the Rio’s best little venues. They strive, not just for good food, but for a good every night of the week. Especially popular is Samba, which is played all the time. In fact, Carioca da Gema is full of fun and crowded on weeknights when other similar venues are closed. The busiest nights, though, are of course Friday and Saturday. They have great tapas, and several fish dishes, so sample them and have a drink as you wait for the show to start, normally at about 9 p.m.
