Semente might be a small bar, but it’s quite popular among Rio residents. It’s a samba club at heart, with plenty of live music and dancing. It also has the distinction of being of only a few places that stays open even on Sunday and Monday evenings. Samba is in Semente’s blood; it was one of Lapa’s first places that brought samba back to Rio. The bar has some delicious snack offerings and good beers, however, make no mistake: the crowds come primarily for the music and the dance.
