The Lapa Irish Pub is the first Irish pub in Lapa. Established in 2002, the whole concept of the Irish pub is still something of a novelty to Brazilians. However, they are taking quickly to the wonderful Irish Guinness beer that has become a house specialty, along with 14 different imported beers the pub is conveniently located within one of Rio’s most popular hotels for backpackers. As a result, Lapa Irish Pub’s true clientele has turned out to be the many foreigners who travel through the city each year.
