About Iguassu Falls
Iguassu Falls is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Compared to paradise and set in the heart of the rainforests of Argentina and Brazil, this sacred wonder is a joy to behold. There are 275 separate waterfalls along the river with the most popular and photographed being Devil’s Throat. The roar of the water from this waterfall can be heard miles in the distance. There are many different ways to view the falls directly.
The Brazilian side of the falls has one primary trail that is one mile long. It leads to the base of Devil’s Throat. For the truly brave there is a catwalk that extends out over the edge of the falls. At the end of the walkway is an elevator so people can easily access the top of Devil’s Throat.
National Parks exist on both sides of the falls. On the Brazil side, Iguassu National Park has many activities to enjoy. There are special bird watching tours to locate more than 250 of the bird species that call the falls home. Guided walking tours are also available. The Macuco Trail runs for 4.5 miles and ends on the bank of the Iguassu River. This trail gives visitors the chance to see the beauty of the forest as well as the diversity of the wildlife.
Boating Trips
On the Argentinean side there are some fabulous jet boat tours to and under the falls. The mega engines on these rubber boats keep them from being swept away with the current. There are also lazier river boat floats where visitors can relax and take in the beautiful rainforest that surrounds them. These boats are usually paddled by the local residents so guests can just sit back and relax.
